What is a Friend?

A true friend will never ask you to compromise your principles in the name of friendship and is willing to put your happiness before your friendship.

It is said that "good advice grates on the ear," but a real friend will not hesitate to tell you something you don't want to hear, even at a risk of breaking the friendship if they think it's in your best interest. They will correct you when you are wrong, confront you with your addictions or suggest you get a check-up if they notice something you might not.

A true friend inspires you to reach your best potential not to indulge on your bad habits.

"A friend is a second self."
 ~ Aristotle

Are you being the friend you want to have?

What is Courage?

Cowardly Lion: Courage! What makes a king out of a slave? Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage! What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist, or the dusky dusk? What makes the muskrat guard his musk? Courage! What makes the sphinx the seventh wonder? Courage! What makes the dawn come up like thunder? Courage! What makes the Hottentot so hot? What puts the "ape" in apricot? What have they got that I ain't got?
DorothyScarecrowTin Woodsman: Courage!
Cowardly Lion: You can say that again! Huh?

"Without courage, wisdom bears no fruit.”
Baltasar Gracián

What stops us? Keeps us from doing what we need to do? Prevents us from experiencing the depth of relationships, love and meaning in our lives? Fear is something we all experience—it’s part of the human condition. The only way to dispel fear is to look it in the face and utilize courage.

Courage is not the absence of fear, it’s the triumph over it, revealing to you what you’re truly capable of.

"Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees the others. "
- Aristotle
