Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows

I remember as a kid this song playing on the radio in the 60s many times, it made you want to dance; I never knew Marvin Hamlisch wrote it when he was about 15 yrs. old. Leslie Gore sang it, she also sang some of my favorite songs from that time like "It's my Party", "Judy's Turn to Cry" and "You Don't Own Me" songs that my kids have heard me sing many times.

It was from a much more optimistic era where our future was bright, as reflected in the lyrics. Back then songs were about LOVE; today they're about suicide and sex. I'm not one to miss things but I do miss those times!

Sunshine, Lollipops And Rainbows

For those interested here are the lyrics.
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
That's how this refrain goes, so come on, join in everybody!

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
When you're in love to stay.

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
That's how this refrain goes, so come on, join in everybody!

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
'Cause you're in love, you're in love,
And love is here to stay!
